An interactive software program, authored by Fred D. Each vowel button shows a lateral view of dynamic animations of movements of the jaw, lips, tongue, velum (soft palate), and larynx needed for proper articulation of that vowel. An audio signal for each vowel sound is synchronized with the dynamic animations. Click on the thumbnail for a larger view.

Consonants are organized in the following categories: stops, fricatives, affricates, nasals and non-nasal semivowels. After choosing a particular consonant the user can see a lateral view of dynamic animations of movements of the jaw, lips, tongue, velum (soft palate), and larynx needed for proper articulation of that consonant while hearing a time-synchronized consonant-vowel syllable of that consonant.
