Sound Pathway
Sound Pathway - Anatomy

This is a frame from the Sound Pathway animation highlighting the pathway of sound entering the ear and traveling to the brain. Included in the Anatomy section are animations of pressure equalization and an interactive rollover for structure identification

Swimmers Ear
Swimmer's Ear - Outer Ear
The Swimmer's Ear animation illustrates the process from water entering the ear to infection. The Outer Ear section includes additional animations of impacted wax and foreign objects including bugs, bobby pins and cotton swabs
Otitis
Otitis, Suppurative - Middle Ear
The TM Rupture animation demonstrates how pus build up can lead to TM rupture. The Middle Ear section additionally includes four animations of otitis media, three animations of the eustachian tube, otosclerosis, cholesteatoma and acoustic trauma.
Ear Buds Ear Buds - Inner Ear
The Ear Buds animation shows how ear buds do not block exterior sound and can lead to hearing loss as the sound level is turned up to block out exterior sounds. The Inner Ear section also includes three animations of normal/common sound waves, three animations of noise effects, acoustic tumor, tinnitus, presbycusis and Meniere's disease.
