Basic ordering process

  • Navigate to detail page of choice.
  • Choose quantity and options as wanted
  • Type the amounts you want in the qty box
  • Click the Add to Cart button at the bottom of the page
  • At the next page, edit the cart, else, press the Checkout button at the bottom of the page

 

  • The first time you create an order, you need to fill out the customer info boxes to establish an account
  • Each entry box with a blue star next to it must be filled out
  • If your shipping address is the same as account address, just check the Same box
  • For State/Prov. box, choose the state or Prov. that you live in
    • If you live where there is no state/Prov
    • choose none in the drop down list under your country's name.
  • Press the Next button
  • If cart stays on same page, look for red alert messages and text
  • You may review the order for accuracy
  • At the bottom of the page, enter your credit card info
  • No spaces in the card number
  • You must put in the CCV code
    • There is a how-to for that is just below the credit card entry boxes
  • Press the Place Order button ONE time; else you may be double billed

Ordering tips

  • If you can not get past a screen, it usually means that an entry box has not been filled out
  • A red alert message will appear on the page to indicate what the problem is
    • Normally blue text will be red next to areas that need attention
  • Quantity boxes must have a zero or a quantity in them; no blanks
  • If you have pressed the Place Order button more than once, the validating bank may
    • Charge you for duplicate orders or
    • Reject the order as a duplicate order
  • If the message comes up declined, the bank has declined the order
    • We may be able track down why
      • you will need to contact or call us
      • Let us know what happened and what notice came up on screen
    • We do not store any credit card numbers in our database!
  • All orders need an account established before an order can be completed
  • Our cart and web site assume a normally operating browser;
    • If you have turned off various features for security, such as cookies, it could affect the ordering process.
    • Javascript runs most of our web site functionality

Mac Software Updated for OS X Lion

  • Blue Tree Publishing Mac software has been updated to work on Mac Intel cpu with OS X, including OS X Lion.
  • All versions distributed on or after November 07, 2011 will no longer work on PPC Macs. If you must have a PPC version, please contact us for availability
  • If you have purchased a Mac based Blue Tree Publishing program since Jan 01, 2011, you may be eligible for for a reduced price on an update version of the software. Please read the following information carefully and follow all instructions

    Purchase dates July 20, 2011 to November 07, 2011 are eligible for a free update

      • Submit a request in writing asking for the update. You may do this on line via info@bluetreepublishing.com, fax or regular postal mail
      • You must include a copy of your invoice or sales receipt.

Installing in a Mac; detecting PC program version

Take a look at the following Mac screen capture.

  • Do your Mac icons look like the regular Mac icons Ear, EAR.DIR and NORMEAR.MOV or
  • Do they look like the plain folded edge icon like D.dxr?
  • If they look like the regular Mac icons, then
    • Drag all of the icons to desktop or folder of your choice.
      • Some versions will need the free Suffit Expander by SmithMicro Software to complete the install
      • Read the "Read Me" and "how to in install" files on disk for details.
    • Double click program icon to play software.
    • Requires OS X, will not run on Classic systems (9.XX and earlier) .
    • OS X 10.3.9 or greater recommended.
  • If you have the plain icons, then you have the PC version.
    • PC versions have a .exe extension and will look like the folded corner icon D.dxr
    • Mac versions are like the icons Ear, EAR.DIR and NORMEAR.MOV
  • PC version will not work on the Mac and vice versa.
    • If you have a PC, this will be an installer .exe program and will install to a PC machine
    • If you have a Mac, the files will need to be dragged off the disk to folder of your choice
      • Some versions will need the free Suffit Expander by SmithMicro Software to complete the install
      • Read the "Read Me" and "how to in install" files on disk for details

Mac programs, Classic vs. OSX specific

  • OS X is the current operating system for Mac
    • Classic systems are version 9.xx and prior.
  • Our programs will not work with the Classic operating system
  • If you have a Classic machine, please contact us. We may have a few Classic versions available as a special order. You may also call us anytime during our business hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00PM PST, Monday - Friday @ 1-425-210-4743.

System Requirements:

  • For Microsoft Windows: An Intel Pentium IV 3.2 processor (equal or better) running Windows XP SP2 or Win 7; 1 GB of installed RAM; and a color monitor
  • For Mac: OS X 10.3.9 or greater.

  • Quick Time 7.0 or better (installed during Windows setup, Mac assumes prior install)
  • PC versions, self install

Network license

  • The Software License Agreement is for one install on one computer.
  • On regular physical installs, networking is specifically not allowed.
  • We would need to amend the license via written agreement to
    • Run it across a single network for however many other machines that want to sign on
    • You would receive one (1) set of program disks, Supports Cards and an amendment to the regular license for each program purchased
  • Additional copies of the Support Cards available at 20% off regular price if purchased on same invoice as the network license
  • Use in a science lab or similar classroom type environment via multiple installs from one disk or networking via a server install would require a network and/or multiple install license.

Quick Time Compatibility - Software

Following public release of Quick Time update 7.3 and newer, Blue Tree Publishing has found that there is a compatibility issue with software that include Flash tracks within Quick Time movies. Apple has closed all support for Flash media inside Quick Time containers (i.e., movies), citing security concerns. Earlier versions of Swallowing Disorders used Flash inside Quick Time containers and will not display correctly if Quick Time is updated past 7.2.240. In addition, for Quick Time 7.1 to 7.2.240, you may need to turn on Flash track capability to correctly run Swallowing Disorders. While the details vary by version and operating system, the general process is as follows (this is for Windows version 7.2.240);

  • Choose the Quick Time control panel
  • Chose the file types tab
  • Expand the miscellaneous file format
  • Check the Flash media box

To maintain functionality of the earlier version Swallowing Disorders, you cannot update Quick Time past 7.2.240. If you have already updated, a possible Windows fix is to uninstall the update and reinstall the version that came on the Swallowing Disorders (Windows version) program disk. Mac Quick Time is an integral part of the operating system and uninstalling updates are very difficult; we know because we updated the company Mac before finding out about the problem. Please be aware that updates to Quick Time often involve security fixes and any type of Quick Time install is at your risk; a visit to Apple Support is recommended for further details. Win 7 Compatibility

Following the public release of Microsoft's latest operating system Win 7, Blue Tree Publishing tested our windows installed software for compatibility. It was found that they all work great within Win 7 32 and 64 bit platform versions. The installer will automatically install the programs into the x86 programs folder for 64 bit systems. While all installers are in process of being optimized to add a Win 7 compatibility system check upon install and will be rotated into stock as completed, be assured current installers have been found to work fine.

6. Export Law Assurances. You may not use or otherwise export or re-export the Blue Tree Publishing, Inc. Software except as authorized by United States law and the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Blue Tree Publishing, Inc. Software was obtained. In particular, but without limitation, the Blue Tree Publishing, Inc. Software may not be exported or re-exported (i) into (or to a national or resident of) any U.S. embargoed country or (ii) to anyone on the U.S. Treasury Department's list of Specially Designated Nationals or the U.S. Department of Commerce's Table of Denial Orders. By using the Blue Tree Publishing, Inc. Software, you represent and warrant that you are not located in, under control of, or a national or resident of any such country or on any such list.

7. Government End Users.
If the Blue Tree Publishing, Inc. Software is supplied to the United States Government, the Blue Tree Publishing, Inc. Software is classified as "restricted computer software" as defined in clause 52.227-19 of the FAR. The United States Government's rights to the Blue Tree Publishing, Inc. Software are as provided in clause 52.227-19 of the FAR.

8. Controlling Law and Severability.
If there is a local subsidiary of Blue Tree Publishing, Inc. in the country in which the Blue Tree Publishing, Inc. Software License was obtained, then the local law in which the subsidiary sits shall govern this License. Otherwise, the laws of the United States and the State of Washington shall govern this License. If for any reason a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision, or portion thereof, to be unenforceable, the remainder of this License shall continue in full force and effect.

9. Complete Agreement.
This License constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the use of the Blue Tree Publishing, Inc. Software and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous understandings regarding such subject matter. No amendment to or modification of this License will be binding unless in writing and signed by Blue Tree Publishing, Inc.
